Gaza - people subjected to genocide

VoltairenetNon-assistance to people in danger of genocide

Voltairenet - March 26, 2024

Hassan Hamade, intellectual personality of the Arab world, who played a leading role in the peace camp, screams his pain at the ethnic cleansing underway in Gaza.

For Voltaire Network readers, he calls for urgently saving the Palestinian people and finally resolving the Arab-Israeli problem. To resolve it on its merits, by proclaiming the equality of every man, whether Jewish or Arab.

There are truths even more murderous than all the plots which aim at the truth, especially in this terrible era where lies, terror and injustice reign. From now on, each of you could dare, if you wanted, to tell the truth without any fear of suffering the dreaded "guillotine" correction which is none other than the accusation of anti-Semitism and its painful consequences that may be on your person. professional life or on his family and social life; an accusation that we use and abuse.

This time the truth came out from where we least expected it and from a person who was never supposed to admit it: Israeli General Yitztshak Barik. Faithful to the practices inherent to his duties at the head of the internal security service, General Barik represented, in the eyes of the Palestinians, cruelty personified. It is the iron grip of the Zionist state entity in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. And yet it is him, the man through whom the surprise arrives.

Barik dares to justify the Palestinian attack of October 7, 2023, dares to recognize, implicitly and indirectly, the resistant vocation of the Hamas movement while attacking the leading duo of government Zionist extremism in the person of the Minister of Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, and his Finance colleague, Bezalel Smotrich, whose influence on official decisions is preponderant and decisive.

It is these two ministers who imposed as the main priority in the action of the Israeli Executive the acceleration of the eradication of the Palestinian presence on the land of Palestine - first the areas occupied in 1967, followed by that occupied in 1948, that is to say the ethnic cleansing of the entire territory of historic Palestine, between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean coast; “From the river to the sea”, according to the famous song which became world famous thanks to the gigantic demonstrations against the genocide perpetrated in full view of all the inhabitants of planet Earth -

Building on his warlike performances in 1973, as evidenced by his wounds to his face and body, during the battles of Sinai, this general known for his outspokenness considers himself fully entitled to provide lessons for the younger generations of his people. guided straight towards the abyss by their current leaders whom they described as... “liars”.

In a recent interview given a few days ago to the English-speaking AI-Jazira channel, General Barik summarizes the state of affairs of the Palestinian population in general and Gazan in particular in very clear terms. :
— Barik: “They dream of freedom, but they cannot grasp it. Like it or not, we control the lives of millions [of them].”
— Al-Jazeera: “If you were Palestinian and lived in the West Bank or Gaza, how would you judge Israel? »
— Barik: “I would fight Israel to obtain my freedom.”
— Al-Jazeera: “How far would you go in your fight? ".
— Barik: “I would do anything to obtain my freedom.”

VoltairenetThe global situation regarding the massacre in Gaza

Voltairenet - Feb 08, 2024

At every moment, people wonder if the massacre in Gaza will not degenerate into a World War.

It could be, but it isn't. All the protagonists in the Levant act with restraint, each avoiding the irreparable, while the Jewish supremacists of Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition inexorably advance their pawns.

At the end of four months of war in Gaza against the Palestinian people and against the Hamas current belonging to the Palestinian Resistance, but never against that obeying the Muslim Brotherhood, the different actors have displayed their position.

While pretending to its citizens to fight against Hamas in general, Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition works to terrorize Gazans to make them flee. The deprivations, tortures and massacres are not an end in themselves, just means to achieve annexation of this land.

Ansar Allah, the powerful Yemeni political party, took the initiative to attack Israeli ships or ships stopping in Israel in the Red Sea, demanding an end to the massacre in Gaza. Gradually, it also attacked ships linked to states supporting this massacre. The United Nations Security Council recalled that international law prohibits attacks on civilian ships while recognizing that the problem will not be resolved as long as the massacre continues.

The United States, while opposing the massacre of Palestinian civilians, has shown solidarity with the Jewish Israeli population in its blind vengeance against them. They continued to supply the IDF with shells, while calling on Tel Aviv to let in the required humanitarian aid. On this same political line, they took charge of the problem posed by the resistance of the Yemenis by creating Operation “Guardian of Prosperity”. They involved their Western cronies in violation of the authority of the United Nations Security Council, which has never authorized military intervention in Yemen. However, the French military staff withdrew from this alliance after two days, highlighting its conscientious objection to covering the Gaza massacre. Moreover, the Western bombings did not succeed in hitting the military centers of Ansar Allah.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which have just fought a long war in Yemen, refrained from joining “Guardian of Prosperity” and, on the contrary, signed a peace agreement with Ansar Allah. Everyone agreed on the position of the Arab League, formulated in 2002: recognition and normalization with Israel upon the creation of a Palestinian state.

Egypt, which, through a domino effect, lost 45% of its revenues from the Suez Canal, did not turn against Ansar Allah. On the contrary, Cairo contacted him and publicly praised his effort in favor of the Palestinian people. At most, he called on his interlocutors not to completely block the Red Sea. Chinese and Russian ships continue to move freely and Ansar Allah has announced that it is restricting its targets.

Iran, after having called on its various partners in the Axis of Resistance not to aggravate the situation, suddenly came out of its reserve. Tehran has bombed sites linked to Israel or the United States in three separate states: Syria illegally occupied by the United States, Iraq where its presence is legal but not some of its activities, and Pakistan where it supports a Baluch separatist movement.

The White House responded that these attacks would not go unpunished, but did nothing immediately. If its response is light, all the protagonists will conclude that Washington is only a “paper tiger”, if it is strong, it risks opening the way to a Third World War.

Syria applauded. Iraq protested, paying lip service to the fact that there has never been a Mossad base in its autonomous region of Kurdistan. Then he asked Western Forces to withdraw from the country.
Pakistan, whose new government Washington hoped would be ready to go to war against Iran, has, under the influence of its army, rallied to Tehran in its fight against pro-US separatists

It is in this context that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued its provisional order in the case between South Africa and Israel, which it accuses of allowing a genocide to be carried out under the responsibility of certain of its leaders. The Court, chaired by a former official of the US State Department, reached by an overwhelming majority of 15 judges against 2, a decision corresponding in every respect to the position of the United States: it recognized that there was suspicion of genocide and ordered Israel to ensure that the required humanitarian aid entered Gaza, but was careful not to go further. She said nothing about demands for reparations for victims, nor about Israel's condemnation of individuals guilty of genocide. Above all, she refrained from saying that “the Israeli state must immediately suspend its military operations inside and against Gaza”.

Pretending to agree to comply with this order, Israel liberated the Rafah crossing and announced measures in favor of the passage of international humanitarian aid. However, at the same time, he accused the United Nations agency responsible for distributing this aid (UNRWA) of being an arm of “terrorists”. He sent Washington evidence of the participation of 12 Agency employees in the October 7 operation. Without delay, the United States suspended its aid and convinced a dozen aid states to follow suit. Suddenly deprived of resources, UNRWA no longer has the possibility of transporting this aid to Gaza and distributing it.

Washington, which until now had pleaded for humanitarian aid to civilians, has therefore hardened its position by participating in the destruction of the appropriate United Nations agency. However, he pursues his dream of a “two-state solution”. By moving towards the dissolution of UNRWA, the West is depriving stateless Palestinians of the passports that only the United Nations can issue them. In fact, they also prevent the “voluntary” exile of this bombed and starving population that the European Union was already preparing to receive.

Emboldened by this support, 11 ministers from Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition appeared at a festive event, organized by Kol Barama radio at the Jerusalem International Convention Center. It was titled: “Israel Victory Conference – Settlements Bring Security: Return to the Gaza Strip and Northern Samaria.” Speakers, including Itamar Ben-Gvir, Minister of National Security and president of the Jewish Force (Otzma Yehudit) party, assured that there would never be peace with the Arabs and that only the colonization of the entire Palestine could bring security to the Jews. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, present on site, approved.

These belligerent remarks shocked the opposition to the coalition, whether outside the war government (like Yaïr Lapid) or within it (like Yaakov Margi or General Benny Ganz). Above all, they exasperated Washington, which reacted in two ways to this slap. First, he asked his associates not to receive Jewish supremacists (like Amichai Chikli, Minister of Diaspora Affairs, who was expected in Berlin), then he decreed sanctions against some of them. These measures are more important than they seem since they immediately prohibit any international fundraising and bank transfers. They should quickly weaken the Jewish supremacists and, in turn, favor the others.

We quickly learned that Washington had first considered including ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich on the list of people sanctioned before abandoning it. The latter then simply retorted that Joe Biden's accusation that West Bank settlers are violent is “an anti-Semitic lie spread among the enemies of Israel”.

Gaza moral bankruptcy

Réseau InternationalThe silence of the damned

International Network - Feb 05, 2024

America's leading humanitarian and civic institutions, including major medical institutions, refuse to denounce the Israeli genocide in Gaza. This reveals their hypocrisy and complicity.

There is no longer an effective health system in Gaza. Infants are dying. Children have limbs amputated without anesthesia. Thousands of cancer patients and people requiring dialysis lack treatment. The last oncological hospital in Gaza has stopped functioning. An estimated 50 pregnant women do not have a safe place to give birth. They undergo cesarean sections without anesthesia. Miscarriage rates have increased by 000 percent since the Israeli assault began. The wounded bleed out. There is no sanitation or drinking water. Hospitals were bombed and bombed. Nasser Hospital, one of the last functioning hospitals in Gaza, is "on the verge of collapse." Clinics as well as ambulances – 300 in Gaza and more than 79 in the West Bank – were destroyed. Some 212 doctors, nurses and health workers have been killed – more than the total of all health workers killed in conflicts around the world combined since 400. More than 2016 others have been detained, interrogated, beaten and tortured, or disappeared by Israeli soldiers.

Israeli soldiers regularly enter hospitals to carry out forced evacuations – on Wednesday, soldiers entered al-Amal hospital in Khan Younis and demanded that doctors and displaced Palestinians leave – as well as to round up the detainees, including the wounded, sick and medical personnel. On Tuesday, disguised as hospital workers and civilians, Israeli soldiers entered Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin, West Bank, and murdered three Palestinians as they slept.

Cuts in funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) – collective punishment for the alleged involvement in the October 7 attack of 12 of its 13 000 UNRWA employees – will accelerate the horror, as attacks, famine, lack of health care and the spread of infectious diseases in Gaza have turned into a tidal wave of death.

The unsubstantiated accusations, which include the accusation that 10 percent of all UNRWA personnel in Gaza have ties to Islamist militant groups, were published in the Wall Street Journal. The journalist, Carrie-Keller Lynn, served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Given the many lies Israel has used to justify its genocide, including “decapitated babies” and “mass rapes,” it is reasonable to assume that this may be another fabrication.

The allegations, details of which remain scant, are apparently based on confessions by Palestinian detainees – almost certainly after being beaten or tortured. These allegations were enough to see 17 countries, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia and Japan, reduce or delay funding for this vital United Nations agency. UNRWA is all that separates Gaza's Palestinians from starvation. A handful of countries, including Ireland, Norway and Turkey, are maintaining funding.

Eight of the UNRWA employees accused of participating in the October 7 attack in southern Israel, where 1 people were killed and 139 kidnapped, have been fired. Two were suspended. UNRWA has promised an investigation. They represent 240 percent of UNRWA staff.

Israel seeks to destroy not only Gaza's health system and infrastructure, but also UNRWA, which provides food and aid to 2 million Palestinians. The goal is to make Gaza uninhabitable and ethnically cleanse Gaza's 2,3 million Palestinians. Hundreds of thousands of people are already starving. More than 70 percent of homes were destroyed. More than 26 people were killed and more than 700 were injured. Thousands of people are missing. About 65 percent of Gaza's pre-war population has been displaced, with most living in the open. Palestinians are reduced to eating grass and drinking contaminated water.

Noga Arbell, a former Israeli Foreign Ministry official, said during a debate in the Israeli parliament on January 4: "It will be impossible to win the war unless we destroy UNRWA, and that destruction must begin immediately." .”

“UNRWA is an organization that perpetuates the Palestinian refugee problem,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in 2018. “It also perpetuates the narrative of the so-called 'right of return' with the aim of eliminating the state of Israel, and UNRWA must therefore disappear.”

An unnamed senior Israeli official welcomed the suspension of UNRWA funding, but insisted Wednesday that the government was not calling for it to be shut down.

More than 152 UNRWA employees in Gaza – including school principals, teachers, health workers, a gynecologist, engineers, support staff and a psychologist – have been killed since the Israeli attacks began. More than 141 UNRWA installations were destroyed by the bombings. This is the largest loss of personnel in conflict in UN history.

The destruction of health facilities and the targeting of doctors, nurses and medical staff is particularly abhorrent. This means that the most vulnerable, the sick, infants, wounded and elderly, and those who care for them, are often sentenced to death.

Palestinian doctors are imploring doctors and medical organizations around the world to denounce the attack on the health system and mobilize their institutions in protest.

“The world must condemn the acts against medical professionals occurring in Gaza,” writes Al-Shifa Hospital director Muhammad Abu Salmiya, who was arrested along with other medical staff by the Israelis in November 2023 while being evacuated with the help of the World Health Organization from the convoy, and who remains in detention. “This correspondence is a call to every human being, to all medical communities and to all health professionals around the world to demand that these anti-hospital activities in and around hospitals cease, this which is a civil obligation according to international law, the UN and the WHO.”

But these institutions – with a few notable exceptions, such as the American Public Health Association which has called for a ceasefire – have either remained silent or, like Dr. Matthew K. Wynia, director of the Center for Bioethics and in humanities from the University of Colorado, attempted to justify Israeli war crimes. These doctors – who find it acceptable that in Gaza a child is killed every 10 minutes on average – are complicit in the genocide and violate the Geneva Convention. They see death as a solution, not life.

Robert Jay Lifton, in his book “The Nazi Doctors: Medical Killing and the Psychology of Genocide,” writes that “genocidal plans require the active participation of educated professionals – doctors, scientists, engineers, military leaders, lawyers, clergy, university professors and other teachers. – which combine to create not only the technology of genocide, but also much of its ideological justification, moral climate, and organizational process.

In November 2023, a group of 100 Israeli doctors defended the bombing of hospitals in Gaza, claiming they were being used as Hamas command centers, an accusation Israel could not verify.

Deans of American medical schools and major medical organizations, including the American Medical Association (AMA), have joined the ranks of universities, law schools, churches and the media in turning their backs on the Palestinians. The AMA ended debate on a ceasefire resolution among its members and called for "medical neutrality", although it abandoned "medical neutrality" to denounce the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

There is a cost to denouncing this genocide, a cost they do not intend to pay. They are afraid of being attacked. They fear destroying their career. They fear losing their funding. They fear a loss of status. They fear being persecuted. They fear social isolation. This fear makes them complicit.

And what about those who speak out? They are called anti-Semites and supporters of terrorism. Lara Sheehi, a professor of clinical psychology at George Washington University, has been fired. Former Human Rights Watch director Kenneth Roth was denied a fellowship at Harvard's Carr Center for Human Rights Policy because of his alleged "anti-Israel bias." Rabab Abdulhadi, a professor in San Francisco, was sued for supporting Palestinian rights. Shahd Abusalama was suspended from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK after a vicious smear campaign, although the institution later accepted her discrimination claim against her. Professor Jasbir Puar of Rutgers University is a constant target of the Israel lobby and faces constant harassment. Medical students and professors in Canada risk suspension or expulsion if they publicly criticize Israel.

The danger is not only that Israeli crimes will be denounced. The danger, more importantly, is that the moral bankruptcy and cowardice of institutions and their leaders will be exposed.

Non-moral EU

Réseau InternationalIrish MP: The European Union has no moral authority

International Network - Jan 23, 2024

Irish MP Claire Daly said "the European Union's efforts to make a decision on Yemen rather than Israel are proof that the EU has no moral authority."

This is what emerged from his speech during a session of the European Parliament on Sunday on the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.

“As Israel stands trial for genocide in The Hague, its accomplices, the countries of the European Union and our supposed like-minded partners, such as the United States and the United Kingdom, are committing an illegal and unjustified crime against Yemen, in flagrant violation of the United Nations agreement,” she stressed.

He added, “The Yemenis didn't kill anyone, but 25 Palestinians were killed and you are all angry about the interruption of international supply chains. The European Union has no moral authority. If you want to solve the problem, stop the genocide in Gaza.

In “solidarity with the Gaza Strip”, in the grip of a devastating Israeli war with American support since October 7, 2023, the Houthis target, with missiles and drones, cargo ships in the Red Sea which belong or are operated by Israelis, as well as companies that transport goods to and from Israel.

Tensions in the Red Sea have entered a remarkable phase of escalation since the Houthis directly targeted an American ship on January 9.

It should be noted that the disruptions to maritime transport in the Red Sea have destabilized EU countries, where many automobile factories in Europe have stopped production due to these tensions which raise fears of a new surge in inflation and disruption supply chains.

the United States is bluffing

Réseau InternationalYemenis know the US is bluffing, here's why

International Network - Dec 29, 2023

The United States knows that the Yemenis are a people who fear nothing and who do not bluff. On the other hand, the Yemenis know that the Americans are bluffing.

The United States announced this week the creation of a multinational naval force to counter Yemen's blockade of the Red Sea. They also warned that they were ready to carry out military strikes in retaliation against the Arab country.

The stakes are considerable. By controlling the narrow Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which opens into the Indian Ocean, Yemenis control the vitally important global Red Sea shipping route. The impact of closing this chokepoint on global trade is enormous. This is why the Americans and their European allies took action by threatening retaliatory measures.

In response, the Yemeni armed forces, allied with the Houthi rebel movement, sent the Americans packing.

The Yemenis have warned they have ballistic missiles to sink any warship or submarine the United States and its allies deploy in the region. The Yemenis added that they would continue to block cargo ships using the Red Sea route until the genocide in Gaza stops.

Over the past week, Yemen has intensified its ban on cargo ships attempting to transit the Red Sea route. Several major shipping conglomerates have confirmed that their ships are being rerouted around the African continent. Additional transportation costs and disrupted supply chains are already increasing price inflation in Western economies, adding to already painful economic hardship and political damage for governments scorned by struggling populations.

The Yemenis say they are only targeting ships linked to Israel, but it appears the deteriorating security situation in the narrow maritime corridor is discouraging all shipping companies. The Bab el-Mandeb Strait, 32 kilometers wide, straddles Yemen and the Horn of Africa. Hundreds of container ships and tankers use it every day to transport goods from Asia to Europe via the Red Sea and the Suez Canal, the other choke point further north, in Egypt. Closing a choke point results in the closure of the entire road.

The United States has attempted to portray the Navy task force as a law enforcement operation aimed at protecting international commerce and freedom of navigation.

The Yemenis, meanwhile, said their disruption of Israeli-affiliated shipping was a legitimate action in solidarity with the Palestinians.

US Secretary of State Lloyd Austin announced the new naval coalition, dubbed “Operation Prosperity Guardian”. “The recent escalation of reckless Houthi attacks from Yemen threatens the free flow of trade, endangers innocent sailors and violates international law. The Red Sea is a waterway essential to freedom of navigation and a major trade corridor that facilitates international trade. Countries seeking to uphold the fundamental principle of freedom of navigation must come together to meet the challenge posed by this non-state actor launching ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at merchant ships of many nations which transit legally in international waters.

Mohammed Abdel-Salam, spokesperson for Yemen's Houthi rebels, responded: "The US-led coalition aims to protect Israel and militarize the Red Sea without any justification, and it will not prevent the Yemen to continue its legitimate support operations in Gaza. We do not demonstrate force against anyone [except Israel]. Anyone who seeks to extend the conflict must face the consequences of their actions.”

The Americans are trying to make it appear that the Yemenis are acting as criminal sea pirates and that the US-led task force nobly serves the interests of international trade and peaceful shipping.

Washington and its allies cannot publicly admit that their actions are aimed at supporting Israel. The genocidal offensive on Gaza since October 7, during which nearly 20 civilians were murdered, is politically untenable for Israel's Western allies.

The naval task force launched by the United States this week includes nine other nations: Britain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Norway, as well as the Seychelles and Bahrain. The latter two countries are token non-Western parties which give the impression that this is not overtly a Western imperialist coalition. Bahrain is where the US Navy's Fifth Fleet is based in the Persian Gulf, and so it makes sense that this small monarchy would be included in simple logistics.

However, the notable fact is that no other Gulf Arab nation is involved in the task force. Egypt is also absent, although it is an important Red Sea coastal country, as is Saudi Arabia. Their absence belies the official US justification. If Operation Prosperity Guardian was truly about protecting international trade and shipping, why aren't the Red Sea Arab states joining in? Of course, they don't, because the task force's real goal is to help Israel.

Israel - losses

Réseau InternationalIsrael pays a heavy price for its crimes

International Network - Dec 28, 2023

Hamas killed around 1650 Israeli soldiers and destroyed 750 military vehicles. Netanyahu does not admit how heavy the price to pay is.

The actual number of Israeli casualties is much higher than the official count. We know this because we saw resistance filmed themselves destroying tanks, trucks and other military vehicles by the hundreds. They also filmed many of their other operations. So we can see that, based on what emerges from the resistance film footage, the number of casualties must be much higher than Netanyahu admits.

It also ignores the fact, at least publicly, that Israel has lost about 7% of its population. They were not killed, they fled the country. This has happened from time to time before, but this time it is not certain that they will return, because the Israeli economy is in ruins. The country's northern border is now uninhabited, as they have all been evacuated due to Hezbollah's northern front.

And the Israeli economy may not come back. It relies heavily on tourism, which is now completely closed. The usual tourist hotels are full of Israelis who have fled the war zones in the north. And of course, that’s bad enough. But (the main reason) the future of the Zionist entity looks incredibly bleak is because of how they managed to commit the most horrific genocide ever seen on live television, and they sickened and dismayed almost the entire world. whole world. Their only supporters are now in Washington DC. And even in the United States of America, polls show that the majority of young adults want the resistance to win and end Israel.

The Media in 4-4-2Young violin virtuoso Lubna Alyaan dies in Gaza

The Media in 4-4-2 - Dec 28, 2023

The young violin virtuoso Lubna Alyaan died with her brothers and sisters, as well as her parents, during Israeli bombings.

Gaza City is mourning the loss of a young violin virtuoso, Lubna Alyaan, whose promising life was brutally cut short in an Israeli attack. Lubna, a talented 14-year-old student, was killed along with her family in a tragedy that shook Gaza's music and arts community.

Lubna was a passionate musician who dreamed of becoming the best violinist in the world. She perfected her art at the Edward Said Conservatory in Gaza, where her exceptional playing left an indelible mark. Sadly, her musical potential was cruelly extinguished on November 21, 2023, when she lost her life following Israeli bombing. But the horror did not stop there, because his sisters and brothers: Zain (16 years old), Kenan (10 years old), Sari (4 months), his parents: Mahmoud Alian and his wife Sally Shaheen, as well as his grandparents Zainab Mahmoud Al Ghoul and Abdul Aziz Alian, and 50 other members of his family, aunts, uncles, cousins... all lost their lives in Nuseirat, in the center of the Gaza Strip. His entire family was wiped out, erased from the civil register.

The Houthis in Yemen

Réseau InternationalHouthis hold Biden by the hair

International Network - Dec 26, 2023

Yemen's Houthi militia has shown that a small army can take on the American empire and win.

She showed how courage, determination and commitment to principle can act as a force multiplier allowing a much weaker army to “punch above its weight”. They also showed that a few well-placed missiles in key locations on the world's most critical shipping lanes can shake the global economy and shake the "rules-based order" to its foundations. In short, the Houthis have shown that David can take down Goliath without breaking a sweat, provided David maintains his perch along the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.

Here's what's happening: The Houthis occupy an area along the narrowest part of the Red Sea, which is the most important shipping corridor in the world. It is “responsible for 12% of international trade and almost a third of global container traffic”. When vessel traffic is disrupted along this waterway, insurance premiums skyrocket, retail commodity prices rise, and oil prices soar. This is why Western powers are committed to keeping these sea lanes permanently open, whatever the cost.

“Yemen said it would end the blockade of ships to Israel as soon as sufficient quantities of food, water and medicine were allowed into the Gaza Strip. I guess that's too much to ask."

Washington on the UN

VoltairenetThe survival of Washington's domination of the UN

Voltairenet - 21 Dec 2023

When it was created, the United Nations carried an ideal of equality of peoples and nations.

However, from the first months of its operation, Washington and London supported Israel against the Palestinian people. Then, Washington falsified the Security Council by having Formosa sit in place of China and by provoking a boycott of the USSR. Today, the domination of the United States over this institution is denounced by a vast majority of member states. While the BRICS are placing themselves in battle order so that the institution returns to international law.

In one year, the United Nations General Assembly has changed profoundly: in October 2022, 143 States, led by Washington, condemned Russia's “illegal annexations” in Ukraine, while in December 2023, 153 States called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, against the advice of Washington.

In the past, Washington could threaten many states and force them to take the same position as it and adopt its rules. Today it's less scary:
Certainly, the United States Special Operations Command (USSoCom) could at any time carry out covert military interference in any country in the world and assassinate any of its leaders, but this deployment seems increasingly unlikely in large countries.
Certainly, the Treasury Department can prohibit trade with this or that state and thus sink the economy of the recalcitrant, or even starve its population. But now Russia and China offer a way to break this economic siege.
Certainly the gigantic communications interception machine of the “Five Eyes” (Australia, Canada, United States, New Zealand, United Kingdom) can reveal the turpitudes of any recalcitrant, but certain leaders are honest and cannot therefore be the subject of blackmail to the detriment of their population.

From this point of view, the list of States having voted against the ceasefire in Gaza is enlightening; in addition to the United States and Israel, it includes a certain number of regimes with surprising characteristics [...]

All men are Man - Victor Hugo

Réseau InternationalAll men are Man

International Network - Dec 15, 2023

“All men are Man and law has no shores any more than the heavens.” Is this Victor Hugo formula still relevant today?

The question deserves to be asked while from all over the world, from Ukraine, from Armenia, from Israel, from Gaza, from Africa, the cries of the victims of terrorism, of barbarism, of the murderous madness of men.

No generation can choose the trials to face.

But each generation has the choice of means: indifference, cowardice, madness or

Humanism and reason.

The tragedies we experience shock our consciences, shake up our convictions so hard that they can lead us to bad choices.

But humanism, that is to say the primacy of Man, of reason must prevail in all circumstances.

This century, still young, only 23 years old, is already for History that of terrorism, of barbarism, of murderous madness.

Will it also be that of murdered humanism?

All men are Man.

Unfortunately, the tragedies we are experiencing force us to do the opposite.

No, not all men are Man, not all victims are Man.

There are victims who must be mourned, avenged, and victims who can be ignored.

There are victims who have a face, a name, and those who are just numbers that we add up. The numbers don't make you cry.

Humanism does not choose its victims.

Humanism is Man, life, respect for all life, it is peace.

The indifference, not to mention the cowardice of Europe, of the Western world as a whole towards the Palestinian civilian victims in Gaza has serious consequences.

The US veto of a resolution for an immediate ceasefire is not acceptable.

According to the director of UNICEF, nearly a million children were forcibly moved south, into overcrowded areas deprived of water and food.

And yet the Western world looks elsewhere.

heavy losses in Gaza

Réseau InternationalPalestine: Occupation forces suffer heavy losses

International Network - Dec 13, 2023

The Israeli army is gradually recognizing that its enemies are serious fighters.

“In Gaza itself, the military is stunned by the scale of Hamas' strength in the region, which has built a de facto terrorist army stationed 50 minutes from Tel Aviv over the past 14 years, possessing hundreds of thousands of weapons ranging from various types of RPGs which are the main weapon for targeting soldiers, advanced rocket launchers, strike drones and strike drones modeled to counter those of the Israelis.

This includes mortar shells, AK-47 rifles, Dragunov sniper rifles, communications devices, operational telephone lines and explosive charges of different sizes.

The resistance is stubborn. She does not give up, even in areas that the Israeli occupation forces claim to have cleared:

“In Beit Hanoun, in the north of the Gaza Strip, located a few meters from Sderot, the IDF operated from the first days of the operation, achieving tactical successes. However, risks remain. Last week, Hamas terrorists broke out of a mosque in the city and new weapons caches were discovered.

The IDF targets Hamas commanders, and most of these terrorist cells are local and small, but as Beit Hanoun can attest, it will take months to completely rid it of enemy forces – and that is not the case. place where Hamas is strongest.

The occupying forces have relatively high losses, much higher than they admit. Via Haaretz:

“IDF reports 1593 wounded since October 7, but hospital data is much higher (archived)

For the first time since the Hamas attack on October 7, Israel said on Sunday that 1593 Israeli soldiers had been injured during that period.

The army said 255 soldiers suffered serious injuries, 446 suffered moderate injuries and 892 suffered minor injuries. The army released this information on the number of wounded soldiers and their condition after Haaretz reported two weeks ago that it refused to do so. (…)

VoltairenetHow Netanyahu falsifies the news

Voltairenet - Nov 22, 2023

We think we are correctly informed in the West about what is happening in Gaza. It is not so. The images we see are selected. The comments we hear do not allow us to understand them. They deliberately mislead us.

Any dissenting opinion is censored.

Like all wars, the one between the State of Israel and the Palestinian population is the subject of a media battle. The Palestinian Resistance does not need to tell the story of the injustice it is fighting against: you just have to look to see. It rather aims to magnify one or another of its components. Israel must, on the other hand, convince of its good faith, which after three quarters of a century of violation of international law is not an easy task.
Before the attack

Since the attack by the Palestinian Resistance on October 7, 2023, Israel has deployed all its services to make us believe that this attack is an operation by Hamas jihadists; and that he knew nothing about his preparation.

However, this attack was carried out by all Palestinian factions, with the exception of Fatah. Hamas defined itself until recently as the “Palestinian Branch of the Muslim Brotherhood”, as indicated on all its documents. In this capacity, he fought against the secularists of Yasser Arafat's Fatah and George Habache's PFLP, then against those of President Bashar al-Assad's Syrian Arab Republic. All, in his eyes, were only “enemies of God”. Hamas was financed by Israel and, in Syria, its fighters were supervised by Mossad and NATO officers. However, after the failure of the Brotherhood in Egypt and their defeat in Syria, Hamas was divided between a part loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood, led by Khaled Meshaal and still pursuing the establishment of a global Caliphate, and another which refocused on the liberation of Palestine. This second trend, initiated by Iran, reconnected with Syria until its leader, Khalil Hayya, was received in Damascus by President Bashar el-Assad. She also reconnected with the Lebanese Hezbollah, to the point of participating, in Beirut, in meetings with it and other components of the Palestinian Resistance.
