The capital and its inhabitants are clearly rejoicing in the festivities and never has the word “Olympic events” found such a beautiful resonance with what Parisians are currently going through, who are now enjoying every minute of anticipation of these future great moments.

The preparation does not stop there since, let us remember, it also includes the furtive removal of the bulky students who take bread from the athletes' accommodation: the expulsions have begun. Phew, the place is freed, the athletes are relieved, Olympism is breathing.

Likewise, deportation, the discreet movement of hundreds of migrants and other vagrants outside the city and their relocation, always at the expense of the taxpayer, almost everywhere in the rest of the country, is going rather well even if certain mayors (that of Orléans for example) are offended in a somewhat green way. Phew, the place is cleaned, the organizers relax, Olympism is smiling again.

But what would this beautiful ceremony be without great organization and above all solid security guaranteeing everyone to enjoy a show like no other?

And precisely, in this matter, we already know that everything will be done to obtain a level of security for individuals. Like never before... or almost, since we will finally put back in place what was a real success in 2021 and 2022, namely providing Parisians and spectators with a solid little QR code during their travels (the self- certificate should not take long now).

We are already delighted to know that an internet platform will soon be available, which will give all Parisians concerned the opportunity to enter a whole bunch of relevant information on their comings and goings, and we wish Olympic courage to all our seniors whose mastery of digital tools is more than sufficient to guarantee that these small QR codes will be correctly distributed.

And frankly, who is not already looking forward to a return of controls and police patrols in part of the capital? This will ensure the legendary security of Parisian streets at least during the games period. The residents concerned will love it!

Finally, all these considerations would not be complete without mentioning that all this will take place with almost total control of costs and expenses.

Indeed, when we read the article devoted to the costs of these Olympic Games, it appears that the calculation of the total is particularly precise: between the initial budget, the current budget, the overruns, the State guarantees, the various expenditure and revenue items, we are completely reassured about what will inevitably be the final responsibility of the taxpayer.

But if.

It appears, however, that the total should oscillate around 11 billion euros according to different estimates, of which 3, 4 or 5 billion would remain the responsibility of the taxpayers pardoned by the State according to Moscovici, the current president of the Court of Auditors, all for an initial budget of 3,8 billion euros, already higher than the 3,2 billion in the application file. We can only admire the truly diabolical precision of these figures and of the official body responsible for the Accounts: for a total of 11 billion, that gives us 7 billion in small plump overruns, and 3 to 5 billion euros of Public money gives us an envelope which varies easily by more than 60% on overruns of more than 100%. It's pretty.

Rest assured, however: the journalistic propaganda teams are already on deck to remind us that even with a bill of 11 billion euros (which the entire French Nation can very well afford in these times of growth and Macronian opulence), these games will probably be among the least expensive in recent history.

But if.

In fact, we even wonder, in the face of these modest figures, why we are sparing so much, even to the point that the Île-De-France region has, for example, refused to cover the travel costs of 200.000 accredited people (athletes, officials, journalists…) even though it had been courteously requested by the official Games committee and this budget only represents a little less than 10 million euros.

There is no denying that this event oozes millimeter precision and cost control down to the smallest item of expenditure! This puts us in the best position to imagine what the organization of the events themselves, of the opening and closing ceremonies, could give, and which suggests an exceptional level of quality for safety and security. support for players, spectators and all trades around this event. The English fans will love it!

No doubt, it will go very, very well. Everything will even be Olympic, for sure.
