When it was created, the United Nations carried an ideal of equality of peoples and nations.

   

However, from the first months of its operation, Washington and London supported Israel against the Palestinian people. Then, Washington falsified the Security Council by having Formosa sit in place of China and by provoking a boycott of the USSR. Today, the domination of the United States over this institution is denounced by a vast majority of member states. While the BRICS are placing themselves in battle order so that the institution returns to international law.

In one year, the United Nations General Assembly has changed profoundly: in October 2022, 143 States, led by Washington, condemned Russia's “illegal annexations” in Ukraine, while in December 2023, 153 States called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, against the advice of Washington.

In the past, Washington could threaten many states and force them to take the same position as it and adopt its rules. Today it's less scary:
Certainly, the United States Special Operations Command (USSoCom) could at any time carry out covert military interference in any country in the world and assassinate any of its leaders, but this deployment seems increasingly unlikely in large countries.
Certainly, the Treasury Department can prohibit trade with this or that state and thus sink the economy of the recalcitrant, or even starve its population. But now Russia and China offer a way to break this economic siege.
Certainly the gigantic communications interception machine of the “Five Eyes” (Australia, Canada, United States, New Zealand, United Kingdom) can reveal the turpitudes of any recalcitrant, but certain leaders are honest and cannot therefore be the subject of blackmail to the detriment of their population.

From this point of view, the list of States having voted against the ceasefire in Gaza is enlightening; in addition to the United States and Israel, it includes a certain number of regimes with surprising characteristics [...]
