share your land

BastamagShare your land to make a better living from it

Bastamag - Feb 23, 2024

Three small farms are better than one big one. Sharing agricultural land and buildings to allow others to settle is the choice of a couple of farmers in the Loire. In 20 years, on their 70 hectares, they have gone from 1 to 3 farms where eight people work and live well.

We are here on a farm that has multiplied,” says Anne Déplaude, winegrower in Tartaras, in the Loire, in front of stunned students [1]. “Twenty years ago, this farm was in milk and had two partners on 70 hectares. Today, on an equivalent surface area, we now have four farms and eight people working. »

How did they succeed in this bet? The story begins in 2001. Anne arrives on the farm of her companion, Pierre-André. He then raised around forty dairy cows in Gaec with his cousin [2], and delivered his milk to a dairy owned by Danone. “What motivated the reconversion was that we sold the milk to the dairy and it was she who set the price. Our desire was to master the product and go all the way to the finished product,” emphasizes Anne. The project is slowly maturing and moving towards viticulture. From 2003, new vines were gradually planted. “Wine makes it possible to optimize the added value per hectare. We were able to make this change because we had finished depreciating the tool: we were no longer tied hand and foot with the banks. »
Autonomy, a key word

“This financial autonomy has made it possible to preserve our decision-making autonomy” continues Anne. With Pierre-André, they chose a certain type of viticulture: they decided to limit the surface area of plantations to 8 hectares, in order to have a very qualitative approach with old local grape varieties. “We also made the choice of progressive and calibrated investments,” continues the winegrower. They built a building dedicated to winemaking ten years after planting the vines.

Autonomy, the key word in their journey, is also technical. “We trained a lot, we also equipped ourselves, but we were never dependent on external advice. » Pierre-André specifies: "In many farms, it is the seller of phytos [synthetic pesticides, editor's note] who makes the treatment schedule."

“Rather than mechanizing everything, we also chose to employ people,” adds Anne. Two and a half employees now work with the couple. They sell between 30 and 000 bottles per year, half of which are sold directly. “Our reconversion made it possible to free up land which we decided to share to encourage the “multiplication of peasants”. » This is where Philippe Chorier, breeder, comes into the picture.

Pool to avoid debt

“In 2007, I had a free-range pig project, with a strong concern for autonomy,” confides Philippe. Stunned by the cost of mechanization that he observed in various agricultural operations, he envisaged a small-scale structure in which he could minimize his investments as much as possible. He contacted the Déplaudes via the Departmental Association for the Development of Agricultural and Rural Employment (Adear). “Thirty hectares were freed up of which the Déplaudes were not necessarily the owners. Pierre-André accompanied me to act as guarantor and I was able to recover 17 hectares,” says Philippe.

Most of the equipment that Philippe uses is from Cuma (cooperative for the use of agricultural equipment). “I have always had collective tractors. For 3000 euros of shares in Cuma, we can have equipment available and that suits me very well. » The concern for sharing to be autonomous led him to invest in the creation of a butcher's shop in SARL, as well as in a collective cutting workshop. “We share the tool. This makes it possible to pool and amortize costs over 10 people. When we are faced with electricity bills that climb from 600 to 1000 euros, it is better to share it between several people. »

After fifteen years of installation, he is delighted: “I am 100% independent in terms of food and working hours. My building is paid for, I have less pressure. » A few months ago, Philippe in turn sold 2,5 hectares to a young man, a former employee of Déplaude, to allow him to set up in viticulture. “I’m happy to have contributed to him being able to plant vines and get started. »

the LGBT community does not exist

Equality and ReconciliationAlain Soral – The LGBT community does not exist

Equality and Reconciliation - 02 Dec 2023

The president of Equality & Reconciliation deconstructs with implacable logic the fallacious concept of the LGBT community, a deconstruction which applies to all the communities which insinuate themselves, in the Republic, between the citizen and the State.

Salutary!

The full show is available on VOD on Kontre Kulture: https://kontrekulture.com/produit/soral-a-presque-toujours-raison-episode-25-nouvelle-2023/

“The LGBT community does not exist: it does not exist legally or in fact. (...) There is an open war between lesbians and homosexuals, even more so, a lesbian defines herself because she does not at all want to be fucked by a man, and a gay man defines himself because women's sex disgusts him! So the LGBTQ+ community is a gas factory where no one really has a common interest. (...) That too is abusive communitarianism. »

New WorldA Russian view of life opposed to Darwinian competition

New World - May 19, 2023

What would happen to the commonly accepted history of human evolution if, instead of an Englishman wandering around the Galapagos Islands, more credence was given to the opinions of a Russian wandering around Siberia?

While Charles Darwin's theory of Natural Selection was based on what his own cultural background tended to make him observe in the Galapagos Islands, Pyotr Kropotkin participated in geographical expeditions to Siberia. There, he realized that a vision totally different from that of Darwin presented itself to observation, and was capable of being transferred to the theory of the evolution of Man.

“Who are the fittest? Those who relentlessly wage war or those who are in solidarity with each other? »

water - solidarity

The age of doing"Life water" flows from Roquevaire

The Age of Doing - Apr 18, 2023

The municipality of Roquevaire set up, ten years ago, a social and solidarity pricing of water, allowing everyone to have access, free of charge, to a volume of drinking water considered as a vital minimum.

It has now been ten years since the town of Roquevaire, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, established free "vital water" for its inhabitants (see L'âdf n° 102). The principle: every human has an irrepressible need for drinking water to survive, so it should be given free access. And thus, each household is entitled to 30 cubic meters of free water (1), the municipal council considering, through a deliberation taken in December 2011, that "drinking water should not be a commodity that is a source of unjustified profits, but that it is a common good of humanity”.

The following 120 cubic meters, considered as "useful water", are chargeable, at a relatively standard rate. And beyond that comes “comfort water”, to fill your swimming pool for example, for which the price is much higher.

In a short decade, this system, which was managed directly until 2019, has proven itself. It made it possible to remunerate the five agents who were in charge of managing the 92 kilometers of the distribution network. They have improved its quality compared to when it was managed by the private sector, significantly reducing the losses linked to leaks: in a few years, the yield has increased from 60% to 76%. The overall consumption of drinking water has not increased, it has even slightly decreased. Far from being a financial abyss, this social and solidarity pricing has on the contrary made it possible to generate profits which have abounded in the accounts of the municipality.

In short, for the 9 Roquevairois es, this operation had almost only advantages. Unless, perhaps, you have an Olympic swimming pool at the bottom of the garden, but in this case it is rather logical and probably not unsustainable to pay a little for the others. This is even the principle of solidarity pricing.

And then, decisions from afar – from Paris, to be exact – forced the municipality to dissolve its management. On January 1, 2018, it is indeed the newly created metropolis of Aix-Marseille-Provence which inherits the competence of water. Roquevaire is then obliged to join one of the management of the great metropolis. Yves Mesnard, the mayor of the town, feels “dispossessed”: “Before, I did what I wanted. We had surpluses and as we were under direct management, I could reintegrate them into my main budget. Now it's over, ”he regrets.

syrian tragedy

Réseau InternationalThe world facing the Syrian tragedy: "Slave of the commander"

International Network - Feb 12, 2023

I, a Syrian citizen, have been trying for hours to find the right, objective and worthy of publication discourse. But the oppression, anger and disappointment that weighs on my heart and the hearts of everyone I have seen and heard over the past two days make sobriety of language extremely difficult.

While the Syrian city of Jablé published a distress call on social networks asking as many young volunteers as possible to reach the Al-Fayd cemetery as soon as possible to help dig the graves, the number of bodies to be buried in their final resting place having greatly exceeded local capacities, the official spokesperson for the US State Department, declared via Tweeter: “Turkey generously sends its intervention teams around the world to help during natural disasters. The United States stands ready to help the people of Turkey and Syria during this difficult time.”

Linky: death of the concentrator reaper

The age to doLinky: the concentrator reaper ... is dead

The Age of Doing - Oct 19, 2022

Christophe M, electrohypersensitive, who deactivated dozens of Linky concentrators, denounced by a "good Frenchwoman" and sued by Enedis, ended his life on September 28, 2022.

This Linky opponent had found a weak point in the device: the concentrators, which make the meters "communicating". Tired of following the legal route that did not recognize electrohypersensitivity, he began to “mow down” a few hundred before getting caught.

Enedis wanted to make an example.

DEATH OF AN INVISIBLE

A few days ago, Christophe M. ended his life. Originally from Vienne, he lived, worked and was an activist in Brittany. Our paths crossed a number of years ago, thanks to militant activities. Rather than militant activity, "combat" would be a better word. For him, resigning himself was not an option in life. Neither resign nor submit.

Having become EHS – electrohypersensitive – he had to stop his professional activity. He then devoted most of his time and energy to raising awareness of this pathology – little known and denied, despite the now official figures from ANSES, i.e. 3,5 million people (in France) in 2018. He has worked, in various ways, to make known the harmfulness of the perpetual fogs of electromagnetic waves in which we all bathe, waves which impact our health to a greater or lesser extent, and which make “normal” life impossible for patients: heavy painful symptoms, difficult to treat and disabling, leading to school and professional exclusion, impossible social life, in all places since the waves are omnipresent…. and endless search for white areas – rather gray, to date – becoming increasingly rare with the arrival of 5 and 6G. These patients discovered the reality of total confinement, long before the “health crisis”. And for them, it doesn't stop with a government decree!

In the microcosm, Christophe was known as a fearless and cheerful anti-Linky activist. We, the Stop-Linky activists, are not numerous. It is very difficult to mobilize, the waves cannot be seen – therefore they do not exist or are harmless – and the majority of people have digested the techie message so well that they are convinced that the problems created by technology will be solved. by technology. Unaware – voluntarily or not – that it is an endless race since wanting and claiming to solve the problems it has generated, technology creates new ones…. In short, among the few active activists pissed off by the neon-green alien (and his brothers), Christophe was undoubtedly the most daring, intrepid and activist. His little tinkering to deactivate the invaders ended up being reported to the police by a "good Frenchwoman". Enedis, annoyed and wanting to set an example, had our comrade brought to justice and asked him for forty thousand euros in compensation, a request followed by the judge. Christophe had given up appealing, discouraged by his lawyer who predicted a second verdict even heavier than the first.

Even if, in various struggles, the "tiny ones" sometimes win good fights against the "mighty ones", David still rarely wins against Goliath. Without a job or source of income, therefore unable to pay the amount claimed, not recognized in his activities as a whistleblower, very isolated despite the few declarations from support committees, Christophe found himself taken by the throat... there was only a small step to the rope that happened around the neck this Wednesday, September 28.
If we consider the result of certain fights, we can speak of failure. However, it is quite possible to look at it differently. In this society where the injustices, more and more numerous, are of State, in this time plagued by individualism, to refuse to submit, to refuse to resign, to resist, to act in the direction of the common and the best, in whatever field it is, it is already a victory. Against indifference and fatalism. Against the galloping loss of our humanity – of our essence, therefore.
Christophe (Linkiller) was my comrade, my brother in arms – and in soul – my friend. Nobody has the right to judge him, and especially not those who have neither his courage nor his commitment. His funeral will take place in the small cemetery of St Pierre les Eglises in Chauvigny, this Wednesday, October 5 at 10 a.m.

Bio in bulk for the poor

ReporterreIn Montpellier, they offer organic in bulk and accessible to the poorest

Reporterre - 30 Sep 2022

In Montpellier, the members of an association organize the purchase and distribution of organic food, all at cost price. The objective: to make quality food accessible while creating links.

Food is a marker of social inequalities in France. According to a study by ANSES [2], the poorest eat less and worse than the wealthy classes, consuming more sodas, meat, industrial products. Food insecurity [3] is exploding, especially since the health crisis. Hence the ambition of Vrac et Cocinas, created in December 2020.

Vrac et Cocinas accompanies three other groups, in Montpellier. On a national scale, the Vrac network — Towards a joint purchasing network — now has more than 4 members and 500 purchasing groups in priority neighborhoods for urban policy.

Mr Globalization"France of the assisted": 9 arguments against this prejudice

Mr Globalization - Sep 24, 2022

From Manuel Valls to Éric Zemmour, via Emmanuel Macron, the Republicans and Marine Le Pen, the argument of welfare has become a real banner for the political right.

Widely taken up by the media, this rhetoric is gaining, it must be recognized, a growing success within the population which is lost in accusing poorer than him, while the richest rejoice. So much so that some on the left, like Fabien Roussel, even flirted with it. But, on closer inspection, we realize that this argument is based on a series of clichés and that it serves to mask other deeper problems.

Some reminders.
