The DPE is bogus

InsolentiaeBan on thermal strainers - The Mayor very favorable to the postponement

Insolentiae - Sep 30, 2023

“In the columns of “Parisien”, Bruno Le Maire, the Minister of Economy and Finance, said this Tuesday, September 26, 2023, “very favorable” to a postponement of the timetable for the ban on the rental of colanders thermal.

The next stage of this ban is due to take place in early 2025.

At the start of 2025, housing classified G in the energy performance diagnosis (DPE) will no longer be able to be rented. In any case, this is what the current texts provide.

Because Bruno Le Maire, the Minister of Economy and Finance, said this Tuesday, September 26, 2023, that he was “very favorable” to the postponement of this ban on the rental of thermal strainers, which already concerns certain very energy-intensive housing units (those consuming 450 kWh of final energy per square meter per year).

“I consider that everything that was decided before the rise in rates deserves to be looked at again in the light of this crisis,” he explains, in an interview with Le Parisien. “What was possible when money was available, becomes impossible with rates this high. We have to be very pragmatic and see if we can shift the calendars.”

Currently, this schedule provides that class F housing will be prohibited from renting on January 1, 2028 and that class E housing will be prohibited from renting in 2034. » (Source Ouest-France here)

We need to slow down the transition and return to common sense.

There are several parameters to take into consideration...

loss at the pump

InsolentiaeWe will be able to sell fuel at a loss!

Insolentiae - Sep 19, 2023

Generosity of the government with other people's money!

Distributors authorized to sell fuel “at a loss” for “a few months”, according to the Elisabeth Borne announcement.

Selling at a loss is prohibited except when it suits the government!

“In an interview with Le Parisien dated Saturday September 16, the Prime Minister announced “that exceptionally (…) and over a limited period of a few months”, mass distribution brands will be able to sell fuel at a loss, while the law has prohibited them since 1963. The stated objective is to “lower prices further”. “With this unprecedented measure, we will have tangible results for the French, without subsidizing fuel. Purchasing power is our fight,” assures Elisabeth Borne. »

The head of government, however, ruled out any idea of reducing taxes at the pump. “Everyone takes their part. It's normal to involve large industrialists. The State's responsibility is also to reduce its deficit and its debt,” she explains. »

The government's brilliant idea?

Be generous with other people's money!!

InsolentiaeBanks paid 673 billion dollars to fossil fuel producers!

Insolentiae – Apr 20, 2023

In 2022, the world's major banks continued to pay hundreds of billions of dollars to producers of fossil fuels, the main cause of global warming.

This is what the NGOs of the Banking on Climate Chaos coalition ("bet on climate chaos"), which brings together associations fighting against climate change, denounce, Thursday, April 13, in a new report.

According to their calculations, made from financial information bases such as Bloomberg, the 60 main global banking institutions have paid a total of 673 billion dollars (616 billion euros) to companies such as Saudi Aramco, ExxonMobil or TotalEnergies, three oil companies. A significant part of this funding – 150 billion dollars (136 billion euros) – even went to companies that continue to launch new coal, oil or gas projects.

“Our objective is to alert to the gap between promises and practices. There is nothing more serious than to think that the situation is in good hands and that finance will save us, ”explains to franceinfo Lucie Pinson, director of the NGO Reclaim Finance, member of the coalition. In 2021, the major banks had committed, via the "Net Zero Banking Alliance", to achieving carbon neutrality for their portfolios by 2050.

This figure of 673 billion dollars is however down from last year (801 billion dollars). “It's too early to say if it's encouraging. We have seen yo-yo effects in previous years,” says Lucie Pinson. »

Transition is a transition… therefore a process!

Russia sanctions

Réseau International85% of the world's population does not participate in sanctions against Russia

International Network - March 24, 2023

The West cannot afford the hubris of the Russian war in Ukraine.

Bloomberg is one of the mouthpieces of American and Western financial capital. As such, it sets the direction and spreads the narrative, which is then faithfully propagated through the so-called mainstream media in the US and the media of US vassals, the EU and NATO. But there are also occasional calls for realism, apart from what one would like to believe.

Under the heading "The West Can't Afford the Hubris of Russia's War in Ukraine," there are some thoughts on what the world looks like outside of its own propaganda bubble. But of course, simply to win the war and promote their own fascist world order. Therefore, the row is specified first:

"Western nations could do better in foreign policy if we tried harder to understand why many do not support our campaign for Ukrainian freedom."

The article cites the example of Malaysia, where the purchase of gas and oil has become cheaper because anti-Russian sanctions have not been imposed.

“We asked the manager: hasn't his energy expenditure skyrocketed? He replied that they had sunk well. "Malaysia does not impose sanctions, so we are buying cheaper oil and gas than last year."

Moreover, the countries of the South do not want the United States to dominate the planet again, because we have already experienced this before and it is not pleasant.

"Most people on the planet want to live in a multipolar world that is not dominated by the United States, Russia or China." That is why many countries do not apply sanctions against Ukraine. "A Russian defeat would not be in the interest of the global South." “Many countries in the South who still have memories of the once-dominant West know that if the West completely defeats Russia, it will once again become arrogant and intolerable,” said Singaporean diplomat Kishore Mahbubani, former president of the UN Security Council. the UN.

total energy

InsolentiaeTotal will sell 1 service stations and stop selling… fuel!

Insolentiae – March 20, 2023

Imagine a company called TotalEnergies that no longer sells gasoline at Total service stations!

Well that's what we're going through.

While Total announces that it will shed 1600 service stations in Europe, the oil giant explains this transaction of 3,1 billion euros by the ban on sales of new thermal vehicles in Europe in 2035.

“TotalEnergies announced on Thursday that it will sell nearly 1600 service stations in Germany and the Netherlands to the Canadian food and fuel distribution group Couche-Tard, to better prepare for the end of sales of thermal vehicles in Europe in 2035. In Belgium and Luxembourg, the two groups create a joint venture. "The proposed transaction, which is based on an enterprise value of 3,1 billion euros (i.e. more than 15 years of net cash flow after tax impact), relates to the service station networks and the fuel cards for professional customers”, specifies TotalEnergies.

The vote of the European Parliament in mid-February providing for the banning of sales of new thermal vehicles in Europe in 2035 in particular for the benefit of the development of electric vehicles "encourages TotalEnergies to take decisions regarding the future of its networks in Europe which will be faced with a loss of their fuel-related income, while electric vehicles will recharge mainly at home or at work and less at stations, ”explains the oil giant in a press release. TotalEnergies includes this operation in its strategy of transformation into a multi-energy company and with its objective of carbon neutrality by 2050.

In detail, in Belgium and Luxembourg, TotalEnergies and Couche-Tard will join forces in a joint venture (TotalEnergies 40% and Couche-Tard 60%) which will operate 619 stations. In Germany and the Netherlands, TotalEnergies will transfer all of its service station networks to Couche-Tard, ie 1198 stations in Germany and 392 in the Netherlands. However, these four networks will remain under the TotalEnergies brand as long as they continue to be supplied with fuel by the Company, for at least five years. In addition, TotalEnergies will retain the electric charging activities outside stations (recharging hubs), hydrogen distribution, wholesale fuel sales activities as well as the network of AS24 stations for heavy goods vehicles. »

Comic strip - The endless world

The age to doA formidable pro-nuclear propaganda

Age to do - March 03, 2023

This is the best-selling book of the year 2022: The Endless World. Problem: this comic is a real propaganda tool for nuclear energy.

The success of the comic strip Le Monde sans fin is both excellent and very bad news. For good reason: this book is both excellent and very bad…
The excellent is in the first part, in which the designer Christophe Blain illustrates with humor and talent the words of Jean-Marc Jancovici, highlighting our dependence on the energy system. The authors recall in particular that there has never been an energy transition since the beginning of the industrial era: to wood was added coal, then oil, gas, hydroelectricity, before the arrival of nuclear and renewable energies.

Result: by multiplying the sources, we have multiplied our energy consumption. We would thus have become sorts of Iron Man who are unaware of each other, with at our service superpowers offered by the machines that we have at our service. Or even moguls surrounded by hundreds of invisible slaves: a tractor offers the labor force of 600 humans, an airplane is equivalent to the power of a million people.
To limit climate change, we must drastically reduce our consumption of fossil fuels, even though almost all of our activities depend on it. And it's not just about air travel: the hospital alone would also represent 5% of the French carbon footprint.

The book does not address issues of wealth sharing, public services or the advertising essential to the consumerist model. According to the very debatable vision that it conveys, our standard of living would depend on only one parameter: our energy consumption. If it drops, goodbye health, leisure, retirement, hello great migrations, wars, famines...

Nuclear booklet-A

InsolentiaeLivret A… the money collected will be used to build new nuclear power plants!

Insolentiae - Feb 13, 2023

The government could mobilize savings from the Livret A to finance nuclear power.

A few weeks ago our Bruno Lumière de Bercy, our beacon of the economy, our helmsman of the sanctions that work against Russia, what am I saying the ace of aces of finances, told us precisely about the finances of France that there was no money problem since the French had plenty of it… money and savings, of course.

So for Bruno, the central question is how do you get your money?

In mamamouchi's modest language, we say "money is not a problem, we will always find it, what is important is the way in which the financial flows are oriented". I love the sense of understatement of our motorless ministry launch. Our Bruno is delicious.

And so, as it is necessary (finally) to build a few more nuclear power plants (rather than spending hundreds of billions to poorly insulate current housing), one wonders in high places how to find the money elsewhere than on the financial markets.

And there was light (nuclear of course).

SHELL record profits

The Media in 4-4-2Shell records highest profits in 115 years

The Media in 4-4-2 - Feb 03, 2023

All is well for Shell, which announced record profits in 2022 thanks to rising energy prices following the invasion of Ukraine.

However, this has resulted in higher energy bills for households and businesses.

Oil and gas giant Shell has reported record annual profits as energy prices rose last year following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Adjusted profits amounted to 39,9 billion dollars (31,6 billion euros), the highest in the company's history, which has existed for 115 years.

Energy companies posted record profits as oil and gas prices surged following the invasion of Ukraine. It has put pressure on businesses to pay a windfall tax as households face rising bills.

The entourloupe of energy saving certificates

The age to doThe entourloupe of energy saving certificates

Age to do - Jan 06, 2023

Thank you for the bicycle boost and My free bulbs, but the financing of the energy transition by energy saving certificates raises questions in democratic matters.

We are too few to know the operation of this device, managed by companies, which we finance each year to the tune of several billion euros.

900 bikes repaired in less than 000 months (6): the “bike boost” scheme is a hit. It must be said that it is quite simple to take advantage of this "voucher" of 1 euros to have your bike repaired. All you have to do is go to a bicycle dealer with your bike, your ID and your smartphone (50), and presto! Faced with the success of the operation launched on May 2, the government announced that it would triple the dedicated envelope, bringing it to 11 million euros. In September, he again announced an extension of 60 million euros. In December, the device is extended until March 20, and the envelope increased to 31 million euros. It's no longer an envelope, it's a suitcase!

But where does the money come from? Is the government showing political courage by redirecting public spending in favor of cycling? No way. It is the end consumers of energy, that is to say you and me, who pay for the bicycle boost, each time we fill up or turn on our radiator. The trick has a name: the system of energy saving certificates. A formidable "thingy" specially created to finance the policy of controlling energy consumption. We will try later to explain in detail the operation of this gas plant, but for the moment, it is enough to present the principle in its large widths to understand the maneuver. To reduce the energy consumption of individuals (3), the State requires energy sellers (EDF, Engie, Total, petrol stations, etc.) to financially encourage consumers to invest in energy efficiency. To do this, energy sellers will simply pay part of household investments: bike repair to avoid having to take the car, attic insulation to not push the heating, etc. Example with the “bike boost”: six energy suppliers, including Total and Auchan Energies, contribute to a fund. It is with this fund that the bicycle dealers are paid for the repair of the bicycles.
