The Oasis Festival is the big annual event for French school children.
Hundreds of people already living in the oasis or wishing to live there meet there to share their experiences, their successes, their discouragements, their dreams... It is also an opportunity for a wider audience to discover this way of life. .
This year, the Oasis Festival will take place from August 23 to 27 at the ecovillage of Sainte-Camelle (Ariège) and will take the form of a summer university.
The objective will be to explore the political, cultural, social and economic dimensions of life in the school, through testimonies of inhabitants and inhabitants of schoolchildren but also of sociologists, philosophers, economists and artists able to answer to this question :
How are oases laboratories for experimenting with new ways of socializing together?
During this event, which is aimed at 500 participants, various formats will be offered: conferences, round tables, workshops, mini-trainings and visits and presentations of Oasis.

With its mud-straw walls and rounded shapes, Amalia and Harald's home looks like a hobbit's house, straight out of a movie. Nestled in an old quarry, the house overlooks a little corner of paradise where goats, geese, chickens and dogs live together freely. Protected from animals by a fence, a space is devoted to market gardening in permaculture. Tomatoes, squash and butternut: the fairy tale continues in this vegetable garden, where everything is abundance and profusion. “It's the magic of compost made in dry toilets! jokes Amalia, picking juicy, sweet-tasting tomatoes. However, the adventure could soon stop.
On September 19, Harald and Amalia were summoned before the criminal court of Quimper: they are accused of having made arrangements on a non-constructible zone without authorization from the town hall. Their house risks being destroyed, and their beautiful project abandoned. Without a lawyer, and unprepared for the workings of justice, the couple struggled to make themselves heard during the hearing: "It was a total fiasco...", testifies Amalia on the telephone, her voice still trembling at the out of court. How did they get there? To understand, you have to go back three years.

A way to fight against mass tourism by offering committed holidays, and a new eco-place to identify in France. Near Saumur, in the Loire Valley region, she created the Gîte du Bois Davy. Located in the middle of the forest, this eco-place is spread over 11 hectares. Geared towards eco-tourism, it offers unusual accommodation such as tree houses or sleeping accommodation under a transparent roof, camping pitches as well as four main buildings where visitors can stay year-round.
