The Miserere or Miserere mei, Deus, according to the incipit of Psalm 50, is a work of polyphony composed around 1638 for the choir of the Sistine Chapel by Gregorio Allegri, chaplain to Pope Urban VIII.

The work is a good illustration of the remarks made by the pianist Étienne Guéreau in his capsule on the collapse of the musical level.
