Although Joe Biden declared that "the pandemic is over", the White House intervened to clarify that this did not mean that emergency health powers were abandoned.
Joe Biden made the remarks during an appearance on 60 Minutes on Sunday.
It's not the first time that Mr. Biden's statement appears to have been unplanned, and the White House has rushed to do damage control.
To everyone's surprise, the administration refuses to give up the powers it granted itself by imposing a public health emergency, which will not be lifted.
