Gateway PunditSudden death of journalist who tried to cancel Novak Djokovic

Gateway Pundit – Jan 22, 2024

The journalist who tried to cancel Novak Djokovic because he was not vaccinated collapses and dies suddenly at the Australian Open.

The sports journalism community is in mourning following the sudden death of Mike Dickson, a respected editor at the Daily Mail.

Mr Dickson, who was in Melbourne covering the Australian Open, tragically collapsed and died shortly before his 60th birthday.

Mike Dickson had a storied career that spanned nearly four decades, during which he became a mainstay in press boxes around the world. His journey with the Daily Mail began in 1990, when he first took on the role of cricket correspondent, before becoming a prominent voice in the world of tennis.

The sad news of his death was announced by his wife, Lucy, on behalf of their children, Sam, Ruby and Joe, in a very emotional message posted on social media. The family's statement reads:

"We are devastated to announce that our wonderful husband and father, Mike, collapsed and died while in Melbourne for the Aus Open. For 38 years he lived his dream covering the sport all over the world. He was a truly wonderful man and will be missed terribly. Lucy, Sam, Ruby and Joe."

The Daily Mail reported:

Mike Dickson, the legendary Daily Mail tennis correspondent, has tragically died at the age of 59.

Dickson was a hugely respected and admired journalist who spent 38 years in the industry - 33 at the Mail, where he started in 1990 - and his loss will be deeply felt by his colleagues.

He worked as the Mail's cricket correspondent before switching to tennis. During his storied career, he has covered 30 different sports in nearly 50 countries.

Mr Dickson was in Melbourne covering the Australian Open when he died, just days shy of his 60th birthday on January 27.

He lived in Wimbledon with his family and enjoyed following Tranmere and Everton, having grown up in the Wirral. His wife Lucy announced the news of his death on X in a joint message with the family.

Recently, Mr. Dickson drew attention for his criticism of Novak Djokovic's stance on the COVID-19 vaccine. In various articles, he has not only questioned Djokovic's decisions, but he has also highlighted the potential implications for his legacy and public image.

In one of his articles, Dickson writes: "MIKE DICKSON: Novak Djokovic could ruin his chances of becoming the GOAT by refusing to get vaccinated... it's a strange hill to die on for a player who has so much need to be loved.”

Dickson wrote numerous articles, insulting Novak, and even said this. Once again, I'm very grateful to Novak for being so classic and retweeting Dickson's death and saying "Rest in peace." I love this man. pic.twitter.com/Any2nQwHsP

He also wrote a Q&A article titled "NOVAK DJOKOVIC Q&A: Why is the world number one so adamant about not getting vaccinated? What is he giving up in this process? And most importantly. .. what happens now?"

His critical stance was clear in another article where he stated: "MIKE DICKSON: Novak Djokovic will remain a hero to some, but to many others he has destroyed his reputation beyond repair...the world number one thought he could work within the system, but it turns out special treatment only goes so far.”

Despite their differences, Novak Djokovic showed sportsmanship and respect in acknowledging Dickson's death. The tennis star retweeted the news of Dickson's passing with a simple but poignant message: Condolences to the family of Mike Dickson [prayer emoji] Rest in peace.

Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic had to deal with heckling from an audience demanding he get vaccinated. Undeterred, Djokovic responded on court with his usual prowess, slamming down an ace to secure a three-set victory against Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

Watching Novak Djokovic serve an ace after being heckled by the "GET VACCINATED" crowd is incredibly satisfying.

Remember, they didn't let the world champion and one of the fittest people on the planet play tennis because he refused several doses of an experimental mRNA gene therapy for a... . pic.twitter.com/2YqMPkTOi5

Novak Djokovic as director of the World Health Organization

Digital DawnNovak Djokovic as director of the World Health Organization

Digital Dawn - 15 Sep 2023

A myriad of messages on X, formerly Twitter, highlighted the 10th Grand Slam title won by Novak Djokovic (24 years old!) at the end of the day on September 36.

The extension of her own men's record - Margaret Court won that many back when tennis was like Tiddlywinks to today's game - was accomplished in front of panels from Moderna Inc, the vaccine maker against COVID-19 and one of the main advertisers of this year's US Open.

Yet, as the whole world knows, the greatest tennis player of all time – and arguably one of the greatest athletes of all time – opted out of the proposed COVID-19 vaccines, even if it meant that he would be banned from participating in numerous tournaments, in which he would have been the number 1 seed.

It was also banned in the United States and Australia.

Imagine what his stats would be like if that hadn't been the case. They are already incredible.

Instead of getting stung, he followed a rigorous diet and exercise regimen that few of us could emulate. I know I couldn't.

The results, however, speak for themselves, including, shortly, an unheard of 400 weeks in the world's top spot.

Djoker, as he is called, is also an intelligent man who speaks several languages.

So I have a proposal that is not so modest. Why not make Novak director general of the World Health Organization?

He would certainly do a better job than the objectively pro-China communist incumbent who drags behind him all kinds of misjudgments and misstatements related to COVID-19.

Instead of dictates from above, we would have a real example of physical excellence to reflect and inspire us.

Which would be better for humanity on average: being a race of people who don't eat gluten, are pescatarians, and exercise every day, or a race that takes booster doses anti COVID every year or every six months on the advice of a few totalitarian statists who claim to have medical expertise?

The Media in 4-4-2Novak Djokovic refused entry to the United States because not vaccinated

The Media in 4-4-2 - March 08, 2023

Novak Djokovic, the world number 1 in tennis, is deprived of his right to play at the BNP Paribas Open tournament in Indian Wells, California, because he is not vaccinated against Covid-19 and has not obtained a US government exemption.

This is the second time that the Serbian player has been the victim of this arbitrary and unfair discrimination! Senator Rick Scott of Florida and his colleague Marco Rubio tried to save the day by asking the Biden administration to show common sense and humanity by granting an exception to Djokovic. They recalled Biden's hypocritical remarks about the end of the pandemic and a letter from Dr. Anthony Fauci which acknowledges the limited effectiveness of vaccines. But their request was ignored!

The United States is behaving like an authoritarian country by banning unvaccinated foreign travelers until May 11.

Djokovic has already missed six major events in 2022 because of his brave refusal to get vaccinated. This situation revolts tennis fans and revives the debate on the compulsory vaccination of athletes for international sporting events. Is this respect for sport and the Olympic values?

Novak Djokovic: “Yes! »
