A free market in human embryos, fetuses and gametes looms
On Tuesday September 12, the European Parliament approved at first instance new measures by which it wishes to better protect citizens who donate blood, tissues or cells or who are treated with these human substances. But in reality, ignoring the alarms of various expert organizations and the concerns of European bishops, the draft regulation approved by a large majority made up of socialists, greens and liberals, authorizes the free market in embryos, fetuses and human gametes and the resulting eugenic experiments and selections.
The proposed Regulation on Quality and Safety Standards for Substances of Human Origin Intended for Application in Humans (or SoHO Regulation), which aims to share human cells, blood and tissues within States members in a harmonized and standardized manner, was adopted on September 12, with 483 votes in favor, 89 abstentions and 52 votes against. Many MPs insisted that donations of these “substances” must always be voluntary and unpaid and that donors can only receive compensation or reimbursement for losses or expenses incurred.
We are faced with the most blatant hypocrisy imaginable, because it actually opens up the commodification of humanity. Indeed, to ensure that the European Union has its own independent supply of these substances, as is also specified in the approved measure sheet, "MEPs call for a European strategy coordinated by the Commission to guarantee their availability, a list of substances intended for human use or of human origin (SoHO) as well as the establishment of national emergency and continuity of supply plans.

The measures apply to substances – such as blood and its components (red and white blood cells, plasma), tissues and cells – used for transfusions, therapies, transplants or medically assisted procreation, i.e. i.e. artificial insemination. Under the pretext of creating an efficient and safe environment for blood transfusions and organ transplants throughout the Union, the rapporteur of the EPP (European People's Party), Nathalie Colin-Oesterlé, recalled that her party “recognizes and supports the 'existence of a European fertility market to justify cross-border exchanges of gametes, embryos and fetuses in the event of a shortage in a Member State'.
Worse still, EPP amendment no. 241 on compensation for donors of such gametes, embryos or fetuses was widely adopted, thus creating a dangerous precedent in the sale of body parts. Amendments n°242 and n°243 (from the Identity and Democracy and European Conservatives and Reformists groups), which aimed rather to recall the legislative and ethical framework within which the EU should operate, were sensationally rejected.

The new abortion scandal.
The covid-19 crisis has revealed to ordinary people that Big Pharma uses cells from voluntarily aborted fetuses for the development of its anti-coronavirus vaccines or gene injections. Scientists like the American Pamela Hacker argue that the trafficking of organs and cells from aborted fetuses is an integral part of current research in some large laboratories and that these cells are taken from living fetuses. Documents recently published by the American Judicial Watch foundation supported by the Center for Medical Progress confirm this trafficking in still living fetuses.
A few years earlier, it was the abortion machine Planned Parenthood which found itself at the center of a scandal involving the sale and trafficking of organs from aborted babies.
Today, it is the University of Pittsburgh and the United States Department of Human Health which are in the dock thanks to the investigative and data collection work carried out by the American association Judicial Watch and the Center for Medical Progress, we can read on the Blondet and Friends website.
In early August, the two organizations announced they had received 252 pages of new documents from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services revealing that nearly $3 million in federal funding was spent on University of Pittsburgh research to become a “tissue hub” for human fetal tissues ranging from 6 to 32 weeks of gestation.
These documents were obtained as part of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit in which Judicial Watch sued the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) after it failed to respond to an April 28, 2020 FOIA request that sought, among other things, grant applications for “a tissue center and collection location” from the University of Pittsburgh. (Center for Medical Progress / US Department of Health and Human Services [No. 1: 21-cv-00642]).
The documents reveal the following:
The project goals listed in the original 2015 proposal were to "develop a pipeline for the acquisition, quality control, and distribution of human genitourinary [urinary and genital organs and functions] samples obtained during development (6-42 weeks gestation). …[And] to generate an ongoing resource to distribute new human genitourinary samples in development at various stages (6-42 weeks) to Atlas GUDMAP [Molecular Anatomy of Genitourinary Development Project] projects.”
In the proposal, Pittsburgh notes that "it has been collecting fetal tissues for over 10 years...including liver, heart, gonads, legs, brain, genitourinary tissues including kidneys, ureters and the bladders.”
Pittsburgh noted in 2015: “We have distributed over 300 fresh samples taken from 77 cases. Collections may have increased significantly, as material could have accumulated from 725 cases last year.”
The Pittsburgh Health Sciences Tissue Bank is “integrated with the Department of Pathology…providing rapid access to very high quality tissues and biological specimens.”
The University boasts of having a number of internal relationships as well as a "strong working relationship with UPMC [University of Pittsburgh Medical Center] and the Department of Pathology" and with three "laboratories at flagship hospitals in UPMC.” This includes a lab with a “ButcherBoy bandsaw for bone dissection” and a “frozen section room with digital video feed to and from operating rooms.” This also allows for instant discussions with surgeons and [like] immediate “show and tell” for them. She also boasts of having workshops at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
