It thus collected data from the parents of 13 children – a very substantial sample – in order to estimate their exposure time at 528, 2 and a half and 3 years.

On April 11, 2023, the Russian media RIA FAN published a chilling report, during which a family evacuated from Bakhmout (Artiomovsk) by the Wagner group, accused Ukrainian soldiers of kidnapping children from their parents or relatives.
The question that immediately comes to mind is why and where are these children being taken?
Little Milania, 11, testifies in this report to what she saw and what she experienced in Bakhmout (Artiomovsk), when the neighborhood where she was with her grandparents was still under Ukrainian control. .
She thus recounts how Ukrainian soldiers from a unit called "White Angels" (which wickedly recalls the name of the pseudo-humanitarian terrorist organization of the "White Helmets" in Syria) took a four-year-old child by force, under the eyes of his parents who could not face the weapons pointed at them.
These same Ukrainian soldiers tried to take Milania away from her grandparents on several occasions, even going so far as to claim that the little girl's mother had been killed by Russia, when she was alive and well in another city in the Donbass! On April 3, Natalia Tkatchenko, a resident of Bakhmout (Artyomovsk), told RIA Novosti how not only Ukrainian soldiers from the "White Angels" unit but also those from the "Phoenix" unit took the children of force in order to force the parents to leave for Ukrainian territory. On YouTube, one can find hundreds of videos of Ukrainian children saying that they are going to kill "Moskals", singing songs about their readiness to fight for Ukraine, waving knives, shouting slogans and giving Nazi salutes. These videos have been posted on social media for many years.
This may shock you. But that's only the case if you don't understand the history of Ukraine and what's been going on there since 1991, when the Soviet Union broke up and all of its republics declared their independence.
Independence has been important to Ukrainians since at least the 1920s, when the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) was founded. I have written before about the atrocities committed by the OUN and its leaders, including Stepan Bandera, a Nazi who served alongside the Wehrmacht during Operation Barbarossa.
It is indisputable that the OUN, led by Bandera, murdered more than a hundred thousand people. Bodies of victims are still exhumed today.

The list of atrocities committed by the OUN is long and well documented, despite the "amnesia" that seems to have gripped much of Europe. Here are the most famous of them:
- The Lvov pogrom in July 1941, during which several thousand civilians, mostly Jews, were brutally tortured and murdered.
- The Babi Yar massacre near Kiev between 1941 and 1943, in which Ukrainian nationalists were complicit in the murder of tens of thousands of people, including Jews and Ukrainians loyal to the Soviet Union.
- The liquidation of the Jewish ghetto in Rivne in July 1942, where more than five thousand people were killed.
- The sacking of the Belarusian village of Khatyn in March 1943.
- The massacre in Wołyń, an area of Nazi-occupied Poland that is now part of present-day Ukraine. Between 1943 and 1945, more than 100 Poles were massacred there, along with several thousand Ukrainians who were considered “Soviet sympathizers”.
