Controversy has erupted over Monday's Nobel Prize for developing an mRNA vaccine, with critics questioning its safety, pointing to risks identified years ago and alleging Big Pharma has corrupted science in its race to expand commercial applications.

Scientists and doctors critical of Covid-19 vaccines have leveled sharp criticism at the Norwegian Nobel committee after it awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine to two University of Pennsylvania biochemists for their work on the development of “effective mRNA vaccines against Covid-19”.

Katalin Karikó, Ph.D., and Drew Weissman, M.D., Ph.D., received the award Monday for their “groundbreaking discoveries … about how mRNA interacts with our immune system [and for contributing] having contributed] to the unprecedented pace of vaccine development during one of the greatest threats to human health in modern times,” according to the Nobel committee press release.

Dr Robert Malone, the renowned inventor of mRNA technology, reacted on X/Twitter:

“Karikó and Weissman get the Nobel Prize, not for inventing mRNA vaccines (because I did), but for adding pseudouridine which made it possible to manufacture an unlimited number of spike toxins in which could have been a safe and effective vaccine platform, if it had been developed in a safe manner.

Dr. Malone challenged the integrity of the price, claiming that Big Pharma was behind it.

“Pfizer has been campaigning for this award since 2020. At first, they claimed (like Karikó) that it invented the mRNA vaccine technology. Pfizer makes large donations to the Karolinska Institute which awards the Nobel Prize. »
