The fate of Germany has been settled, now it is France's turn

Washington has never had any qualms about abandoning, or even eliminating, allies once their function in the service of the empire was exhausted. The occupation of the Philippines, the shameful abandonments of Hanoi and Kabul, the Plaza Accords with Japan, the arrest of Noriega and the assassination of Bin Laden, among other examples, are there to prove it.

With all due respect to liberals who love the mirages of a Euro-Atlantic community, for the United States, between the dictator of a Third World country, the leader of an extremist militia and a country of the Old Continent, it there is no substantial difference. Recent events prove it. With the lack of room for maneuver guaranteed by the necessities of the Cold War, which forced the United States to guarantee the stability of Europe with carrots and sticks, the countries of the continent found themselves with one more master more cumbersome behind them, worried about a possible international challenge represented by the euro, quickly defused, and above all interested in avoiding that, in a world which formally disavows, or denies, the policy of the blocs, the European States do not begin to interact beneficially with Russia and China.

The case of Germany is emblematic in this respect. From the Volkswagen scandal to the destruction of the Nord Stream, from anti-Russian sanctions to support for Poland, the United States has knowingly ignored the interests of its so-called ally with the dual aim of eliminating a dangerous international competitor and strengthening the iron curtain that they wanted at all costs to erect on the borders of Western Eurasia. Mission accomplished: Germany in recession and the enemy of what would have been a natural partner, Russia, no longer represent a danger. At the same time, it can be plundered without fear of harming national dignity. Soaring energy prices and the billions of dollars of investment attracted to Germany through the Inflation Reduction Act have helped keep the U.S. system on its feet in the face of increasingly severe and evident criticality and instability. .

After having exhausted Germany, we must necessarily turn to France...
