A new report from Sandvine has unveiled the web applications generating the most Internet traffic in the world.
Video streaming leads, with Netflix accounting for 14,9% of megabytes traded, followed closely by YouTube with 11,4%. The Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video streaming platforms also generate a significant share of traffic, respectively 4,5% and 2,8%.
Social media and video games are also major contributors to global traffic, with TikTok, Facebook, Playstation and Xbox generating significant amounts of data in 2022.
