At the beginning of June, the Center for Strategic and International Studies published an article1 which clearly describes a certain paradigm shift in the North American approach to the conflict in Eastern Europe.
It now seems entirely possible that Ukraine will not regain its territory in the east, that it will not receive the levels of aid it needs to rebuild quickly, that it will face continuing threats of Russia to the east which will limit its ability to recreate an industrialized zone, and that it will face major problems in terms of maritime trade.
